The firm is a recognized leader in sustainably designed major public work projects. Tony Gale FAIA, a second-generation Northwest architect, has been practicing architecture since 1972. His architectural designs have received many awards for environmental design and accessibility, planning, architecture and engineering. • Housing: Six, 1,600SF Townhouses @ 26 th and East Howell, Seattle, WA, for the Management Institute for the Underdeveloped (MITU), Project Leader; Marine Shrimp Hatchery, Tianjin, China: Principal Architect for this 100 ton pilot project that included a processing plant, laboratories, housing and the training of unskilled workers from a local commune; National Aquaculture Center, Arab Republic of Egypt:Principal Architect for this 228-acre development of administrative offices, laboratories and housing for the scientists and farmers; Renovation and Restoration of the first historic residences in Washington Park on 34 th East, Seattle, WA. recently put on the market with an asking price of $4.8 million: Principal Architect.
• Relevant Key Staff Projects: Cliff Street Lofts, Adaptive Re-Use of Commercial/Warehouse Building for use as Loft apartments (now condominiums), Tacoma, WA; McDonald/Smith Artists’ Lofts, Adaptive Re-use of Warehouse for artist loft housing; Colonial Square Restoration of Historic Hotel for SRO Apartments, Tacoma, WA.

• Historic Renovation & Mixed Use Restorations: Alaska Trade and Butterworth Buildings within the Pike Street Market Historic District, Seattle, WA: we were one of the Building Owners and Principal Architect; Top 13,000SF floor of the historic Skinner Building, Seattle, WA: Principal Architect; 15 Story 318,000SF Historic Dexter Horton Building, Seattle, WA; Project Director.140,000SF Alaska Building @ 618 2nd Ave within the Pioneer Square Historic District, the first high-rise in Seattle: Phase I, Feasibility Study to convert the building primarily to moderate income housing, FGA is the prime.

• Major Public Work & Renovation/Restorations: Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center, Federal Way, WA: Designer-of-Record for this award winning 1990 Goodwill Games World-Class Pool; Oregon Coast Aquarium, Newport , OR: AquariumDesigner-of-Record for this award winning ~23 acre facility; West Seattle Freeway Bridge, Seattle, WA: Principal In Charge of urban design team and 19 alternative EIS; The Seattle Aquarium, Seattle, WA:Project manager of design team for exhibits & building: design through construction.
